Key Infomation

School Uniform

Children will need to wear school uniform every day.  Please write your child’s name on all items of clothing as the school will not accept responsibility for any items of lost clothing.  Items with the school logo can be purchased from:

Khalsa Schoolwear
388-390 Bethnal Green Road
E2 0AH

or at

Non-logo items and standard pieces, such as trousers and polo shirts, can be purchased from supermarkets and high street retailers.

Children should wear footwear to school that is appropriate to running around and climbing on the climbing frame.  Trainers are permitted.  Shoes without covered toes or heels are not. High heels are also not permitted.

PE clothes

In addition to school uniform, pupils are required to have additional clothing for PE.   Children need a T-shirt (different to the one worn to school) with either shorts or track suit bottoms and a pair of trainers.  In colder weather, track suit jackets may be worn as well.  PE clothes can be any colour and they should be stored in a named draw string bag at school.  It is desirable for PE clothes to be washed regularly and a change of socks provided weekly.  Please write your child’s name on all items of clothing and bags.

For safety reasons, stud earrings and wrist watches are the only items of jewellery permitted.  Stud earrings are the responsibility of parents/carers and must be removed for PE, games and swimming lessons.  If you are considering having your child’s ears pierced, please do so at the beginning of the summer holiday.  If a watch is worn, please ensure that it is named or can be identified.

Please ensure that long hair is tied up, away from the face.

Make up

We do not permit nail varnish and other make up to be worn at school.

Mobile phones, toys and games

Mobile phones are discouraged in school. However, in exceptional circumstances, permission is granted if parents/carers agree in writing to take responsibility for any loss or damage.  Mobile phones will be kept by the office during the day and returned to children at home time.  No toys or games should be brought into school unless requested as part of a topic.
